Introduction

The study conducted a baseline survey of provincial general hospitals to support the JBIC pilot study on strengthening health services in Vietnam. As provincial hospitals serve as a central hub for treatment and referral within the health system, assessing baseline status was important for identifying support needs and shaping investment to improve service quality.

CEHS's Role

CEHS directly conducted the survey with Dr. Nguyễn Đức Hồng and Dr. Nguyễn Hữu Nhân. CEHS was responsible for designing the research protocol, developing survey tools, organizing field surveys across the provinces, processing data, and developing the report for the JBIC pilot study.

Key Activities

• Designing the research protocol and baseline survey tools for provincial general hospitals.
• Organizing field surveys in 5 provinces to collect information on the status of provincial general hospital operations and services.
• Consolidating and processing data to analyze status and needs for strengthening health services.
• Developing the baseline survey report for the JBIC pilot study on strengthening health services in Vietnam.

• Provided a baseline picture of provincial general hospital status in the surveyed areas.
• Established a database supporting analysis of needs to improve quality and service capacity at the provincial hospital level.
