About Us

Center for Environment and Health Studies (CEHS) is a non-governmental science and technology organization operating in the field of public health in Vietnam. Established in 1997, CEHS combines scientific research, policy advisory, program and project implementation, and technical assistance to deliver evidence-based solutions, contributing to improving public health, strengthening health system capacity, and promoting sustainable development.

History and Scope of Work

Over more than 28 years of operation, CEHS has implemented numerous studies, programs, and projects across priority areas of public health, including health policy and systems, non-communicable disease prevention and control, infectious disease control, environmental health and climate change, maternal and child health, and population studies, while providing monitoring, evaluation, and technical assistance services for domestic and international health programs.

Professional Services

Leveraging extensive experience in implementing projects at both national and local levels, CEHS provides comprehensive professional services in the field of public health:

  • Scientific research and program/project evaluation

  • Design, management, and implementation of intervention programs

  • Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL)

  • Training and capacity building for healthcare staff and partners

  • Policy advisory and technical assistance

  • Data management, statistical analysis, and evidence translation for policymaking

Our Team

CEHS's workforce consists of 03 executive leaders, approximately 25 in-house staff and specialists, alongside a network of nearly 60 consulting experts across medicine, public health, sociology, statistics, environmental sciences, health economics, health policy, and project management. With multidisciplinary expertise and extensive experience, CEHS experts have conducted numerous public health research studies and programs nationwide, while providing technical support to regulatory authorities, development organizations, and international partners.

Leadership

CEHS is currently led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Trinh Huu Vach – Director, specialist in health systems and monitoring & evaluation; MSc. Nguyen Kim Oanh – Deputy Director, specialist in sociology; and MSc. Vu Van Quan – Deputy Director, specialist in public health. The leadership team, together with CEHS experts, guides strategic development, ensures technical quality, and fosters collaboration with domestic and international partners.

Organizational Structure

The organizational structure of CEHS is built on a lean governance model, comprising the Board of Directors, research and program teams, a project management unit, a finance and administration department, and a network of experts and collaborators. This structure ensures effective coordination across research, management, and project implementation, while meeting the governance, quality, and accountability requirements of donors and partners.

Partnership Network

Throughout its development, CEHS has established an extensive partnership network with state regulatory agencies, universities, research institutes, international organizations, non-governmental organizations, and donors to foster research, innovation, and the implementation of evidence-based public health solutions. These partnerships contribute to strengthening health system capacity and generating positive impacts on public health in Vietnam.
