Detailed Description of the Project: The principal method of cross-sectional descriptive study design with comparative analysis, combined a variety of quantitative and qualitative methods of data collection, was employed in this evaluation.
The objective of the evaluation was to Assess the extent to which the extension phase project objectives have been achieved; Assess the effectiveness of the activities implemented under the extension phase project to the capacity of health care services provision in project provinces; Assess the likely sustainability of the activities implemented under the extension phase project, including: probability of project interventions to continue after the project closes, combination with the other programs and project at locality; Assess the performance of the implementing agencies in the extension phase project; Assess the advantages, disadvantages and lessons learned during the extension phase project.
Summary of specific work performed by the contractor under the contract:
  • Design study proposal and tools
  • Liaise with the study sites to develop detailed workplan for each province
  • Data collection in the field
  • Process data and write report.
