On May 5, 2021, in Gia Nghia City, the Center for Environmental and Health Studies cooperated with the Center for Disease Control of Dak Nong province organizing a on orientation and development of plans to promote access to diagnosis and management of Tuberculosis and latent Tuberculosis in Dak Nong in the 2021 period - for health workers in the TB prevention and control network in the province
With the consent of the National Tuberculosis Program (Central Lung Hospital), the Center for Environmental and Health Studies implements the subproject of the Global Fund for Tuberculosis Control in the 2021-2023 period in 5 provinces: Lam Dong , Kon Tum, Gia Lai, Dak Nong and Lang Son provinces with funding from the Global Fund. Introduction of subproject activities in this workshop mainly focused on proactive detection of TB patients in high endemic areas; screening, management and treatment of latent TB in 5 project provinces.
Attending the workshop were 29 local delegates including: representatives of the Department of Health, CDC leaders, leaders of infectious diseases, CDC TB team and leaders and staffs of health centers of 8 districts in Dak Nong province. The workshop set out orientations for the period 2021 - 2023, focusing resources on strengthening the TB system, especially the provincial disease control center and district health center, joining hands for TB prevention. The Center for Environmental and Health Studies will coordinate and support provinces in funding, training and human resource training to strengthen the capacity of screening, screening and detecting TB, latent TB patients, to maximize the rate of treatment of TB patients locally as well as nationally in order to achieve the target of the national TB program. In order to effectively deploy the screening and detection of TB patients in the project districts, the subproject will apply 2X techniques such as X-ray and Xpert, using ACIS software to screen, manage and refer TB patients.
The workshop closed with the consensus and commitment to implement the subproject at the local by the leaders of the Department of Health, the provincial disease control center and the district health centers in Dak Nong province.
