On June 22, 2021, the Center for Environmental and Health Studies in collaboration with Gia Lai Tuberculosis and Lung Disease Hospital organized a online meeting on orientation and development of a plan to promote access to diagnosis and management of TB, latent TB in Gia Lai in the period of 2021- for health workers in the TB prevention network in the province
With the consent of the National Tuberculosis Program (Central Lung Hospital), the Center for Environmental and Health Research implements the subproject of the Global Fund for Tuberculosis Control in the 2021-2023 period in 5 provinces: Lam Dong , Kon Tum, Gia Lai, Dak Nong and Bac Giang provinces with funding from the Global Fund. Introduction of subproject activities in this workshop mainly focused on proactive detection of TB patients in high endemic areas; screening, management and treatment of latent TB in 5 project provinces. At the bridgeheads of Gia Lai Tuberculosis and Lung Disease Hospital, 17 district health centers attended by more than 30 local delegates, including: representatives of the Department of Health, leaders of the Department of Health, leaders of the Department of Health and Human Services, staff of the line management department, TB team and leaders of the hospital, leaders and staff of the TB team in the health centers of 17 districts in Gia Lai province. The workshop set out orientations for the period of 2021 - 2023, focusing resources on strengthening the anti-TB system, especially Gia Lai Tuberculosis and Lung Disease Hospital, and district health centers to join hands for TB prevention. The Center for Environmental and Health Studies will coordinate and support provinces in funding, training and human resource training to strengthen the capacity of screening and detecting TB, latent TB patients, to maximize the rate of treatment of TB patients locally as well as nationally in order to achieve the target of the national anti-TB program. In order to effectively deploy the screening and detection of TB patients in the project districts, the subproject will apply 2X techniques such as X-ray and Xpert, using ACIS software to screen, manage and refer TB patients.

The workshop closed with the consensus and commitment to implement the subproject at the local level at the highest level of the leaders of the Department of Health, the Tuberculosis and Lung Disease Hospital and the district health centers in Gia Lai province.
