Workshop on orientation and planning of subproject Global Fund for TB Prevention and Control Center for Health and Environment Research in Hoa Binh

On February 24, 2022, in Hoa Binh City, the Center for Environmental and Health Research (CEHS) in collaboration with the Center for Disease Control of Hoa Binh Province (CDC) held a workshop on orientation and planning. The CEHS Global Fund for Tuberculosis Prevention sub-project in Hoa Binh with TB network health workers and public-private hospitals and clinics in the province.

With the approval of the Global Fund for TB Prevention Project Management Board (Central Lung Hospital), CEHS has implemented the subproject of the Global Fund for Tuberculosis Prevention and Control for the period 2021-2023 in 5 provinces of Lam Dong, Kon Tum, Gia Lai, Dak Nong, Bac Giang in 2021 and expand the project area to include Hoa Binh province from 2022 with funding from the Global Fund.

Introduction of subproject activities and the 2022 plan in Hoa Binh mainly focus on proactively detecting TB patients in high-endemic areas, screening and managing latent TB treatment, coordinating medical public private sector in TB screening.

Nearly 50 participants from 10 district health centers, provincial general hospitals, hospitals and private clinics of Hoa Binh province attended the workshop. The workshop set out orientations for the period 2022 - 2023, focusing resources on strengthening the TB system, especially provincial TB units, district health centers, hospitals and clinics outside the TB control system. join hands for TB prevention. The Center for Research on Environment and Health will coordinate and support localities in funding, training and human resource training to strengthen the capacity of screening, screening and detecting TB patients, latent TB, maximize the rate of TB treatment enrollment locally as well as nationally in order to achieve the target of the national anti-tuberculosis program.

In order to effectively deploy the screening and detection of TB patients in the project districts, the subproject will apply 2X techniques, namely X-ray and Xpert, and use ACIS software to screen, manage and refer TB patients. The subproject also cooperates with hospitals and polyclinics to detect, send and treat TB patients when they come for examination and treatment at these medical facilities.

The workshop closed with a consensus on the plan, goals and commitment to successfully implement the subproject in the locality from the leaders of the CDC, the health centers of all 10 districts and the leaders of the hospitals and general clinics across Hoa Binh province.
