In 3 days (July 6 to July 8, 2021), the Center for Environmental and Health Studies in collaboration with the national TB program organized an online training session for provincial health workers on screening, detection, treatment and management of latent TB.

In the face of the complicated situation of the Covid-19 epidemic in the whole country, it is still necessary to improve the ability to diagnose, treat, prevent and manage tuberculosis in the provinces implementing the Global Fund subproject, the Center Environmental and Health Studies in collaboration with the National Tuberculosis Program organized a training program on this issue using the online teaching method Zoom.
Contents of lectures on TB- latent TB
The program is organized with the aim of helping students update new knowledge about tuberculosis, understand the process of diagnosing tuberculosis, latent TB, understanding treatment regimens, treatment management process, how to evaluate treatment results and how to manage treatment with some special cases. Thereby helping provinces achieve the goals of the CEHS subproject at local such as: i) increase the detection of TB patients, at least 20% increase in the number of patients in the same period at each screening point; ii) screening, detection, management of latent TB cases; iii) Coordination of public-private healthcare in screening and detecting suspected TB and TB patients in management.
Instructions for injecting tuberculin and reading the results
The main lecturers involved in teaching include: MSc.MD. Truong Thanh Huyen – Program Directorate, Central Lung Hospital; BSc. Le Thi Nguyet - Department of microbiology and national standard laboratory, Central Lung Hospital; DM.MD. Nguyen Duc Chinh, Research Center for Environment and Health; MSc.MD. Tran Van Thieu, program officer of the CEHS subproject. In addition, attending the training session at the bridgehead in Hanoi were Assoc.Prof. Trinh Huu Vach, director of the Center Environmental and Health Studies, MSc. Luu Ho Thanh Tuan, deputy director of CHAI Vietnam, KS. Nguyen Viet Hung, IT expert, CHAI Vietnam organization, staff of the CEHS Global Fund for Tuberculosis subproject.
More than 50 trainees participating in online training at bridgeheads are doctors and nurses involved in TB prevention and control in 5 provinces: Lam Dong, Dak Nong, Kon Tum, Gia Lai and Bac Giang.

After completing the training course, trainees will be able to: develop a plan for proactive TB detection in their localities, update new knowledge about TB, understand screening and diagnostic procedures, TB and latent TB treatment regimen.
