Conference summarizing TB prevention activities in 2021 and direction of activities in 2022

On the morning of February 18, 2022, the Management Board of the Global Fund for Tuberculosis Prevention and Control sub-project for the 2021-2023 period CEHS held an online conference to summarize the TB prevention activities in 2021 of the subproject and operational direction in 2022”.

Attending the conference were representatives from the Office of the National TB Foundation, the Center for Environmental and Health Studies, the Centers for Disease Control of Lam Dong, Dak Nong, Kon Tum, Hoa Binh Provinces, and the Bac Giang Lung Hospital, Gia Lai Tuberculosis and Lung Disease Hospital and district health centers in the above provinces.
Opening the conference was the opening speech of Assoc.Prof.Dr. Trinh Huu Vach, director of Center for Environmental and Health Studies, director of the sub-project of the Global Fund for Tuberculosis Control in the 2021-2023 period. 
At the conference, Dr. Nguyen Duc Chinh – Subproject Coordinator made a final report with the following contents: Project management of CEHS, results achieved in professional activities in the project provinces, sharing of experiences and aspects, limitations of the CEHS Sub-Project in 2022 to better perform its activities.

Next was the presentation of the 5 provinces implementing the CEHS subproject, respectively, local representatives reported on and shared experiences during the project implementation with the participation of: MSc.BS. Mai Ngoc Trung, chief of infectious disease CDC Lam Dong; Dr. Nguyen Van Hao, in charge of the CDC TB program in Dak Nong; Dr. Vu Van Thien, Head of Laboratory Department, Bac Giang Lung Hospital, Dr. Hoang Thi Tuyen, head of the CDC Kon Tum TB team, Dr. Pham The Cuong, deputy director of Gia Lai Tuberculosis and Lung Disease Hospital and some officials in the project provinces. In addition to reports and experience sharing, the provincial representatives also committed to better perform the activities of the CEHS Subproject in 2022.

Speaking at the conference Dr. Luong Anh Binh, representative of the National TB Fund's office - National Lung Hospital highly appreciated the results achieved by the CEHS Global Fund for Tuberculosis Prevention Sub-project, which is the first year of project implementation. The Global Fund for TB Prevention and Control, but CEHS has made many efforts to overcome difficulties caused by the COVID-19 epidemic, has applied information technology in data management, finance and stored documents and records in a methodical manner. science. At the conference Dr. Binh asked the provinces to try to overcome difficulties in human resources and the COVID-19 epidemic so that 2022 can achieve even better results. Entering 2022, the project provinces need to strengthen their activities from the beginning of the year, not let activities be interrupted, take the initiative in residual funding, local funding, regardless of the funding from the central government.

MSc. Nguyen Thi Mai Phuong, Office of the Global Fund for National Tuberculosis Prevention, said that 2021 is a year of complicated developments, with administrative procedures and travel facing many difficulties, but with the efforts of CEHS together with 5 project provinces, the CEHS subproject has achieved encouraging results. During the period 2022-2023, as the person tasked with monitoring and supporting CEHS, the central project office itself and the central project office will try to overcome the difficulty in providing timely logistics support and administrative procedures for the subproject to complete its 2022 target.
The conference was a great success. Dr. Nguyen Duc Chinh, speaking at the closing of the conference with commitments to work with provinces to well implement the subproject's goals in 2022.
