Detailed Description of the Project:  The CHD 2016 project has been developed to deal with the health issues of affected communities by the NSRP. To gain this, the project has proposed to focus on improving community health through capacity building activities for local health workers; raising awareness and behavior for communities in project areas and surveillance on the change of community health status to produce interventions timely.
The project will be implemented in four communes where the population are affected the most, including Hai Yen, Mai Lam, Tinh Hai and Nguyen Binh communes. The epidemiology surveillance, besides four communes above, will be conducted in 10 other neighbouring communes in Tinh Gia district, Thanh Hoa province.
Summary of specific work performed by the contractor under the contract:
  • Review and analysis of the current status of public health issues.
  • Training on the knowledge and skills for local health workers and collaborators on mental disorders, gynecological diseases and ARIs in children aged under 5 years old.
  • Implementing IEC events to strengthen awareness and practice of health workers and the community on prevention of mental disorders, gynecological diseases and ARIs in children under 5 years old.
  • Examination, screening, counseling, treatment support and management of cases of mental disorders, gynecological diseases and ARIs in children aged under 5 years old.
  • Epidemiology surveillance of some determined disease groups and development of the scope of work of the expansion project by the end of 2017
