Detailed Description of the Project:  In 2019, with increasing needs of exchange among countries, labour export, travel all over the world, changes of factors leading to health disorders, climate changes, environment polution, continue to be considered as a nagative determinant to health, world's situation on infectious diseases is focasted to be complicatedly happened. A number of   newly emerged or re-comeback diseases, including  plague, ebola, flu, measles, dengue are likely to be recorded  in many regions. Especially, changes in virulence of new type  of viruses, such as  A flu (H7N9) contribute to increase the risk of  entery to Viet Nam, similar to the A virus (H5N6).  In addition to this, other diseases including malaria, dengue, hand and foot disease in countries in the region  will be continued to be recorded at high prevalence. Therefore, risk of cross-border transmisison of infectious diseases will be high if Viet Nam do not take proactive and efficient preventive and health quarantine activities.
The assesement of 7 designated international PoEs and other big PoEs (including 2 seaports and 1 ground crossing) is important and urgent that can provide sound evidence for development of Viet Nam's future international health quarantine network to efficiently operate to meet increasingly needs in the tranportation of pasengers and goods.
Summary of specific work performed by the contractor under the contract:
  • Developing detailed proposal, evaluation toolkit and work plan;
  • Collecting data in the field;
  • Processing data and writing report.
