In 03 days (March 10 - March 12, 2022), the Center for Environmental and Health Studies in collaboration with the national anti-tuberculosis program organized an online training session for health workers at the provincial and district levels on screening. screening, detection, treatment and management of latent TB.

Updating new knowledge and improving the ability to diagnose, treat and manage latent TB and tuberculosis for health workers at the provincial and district levels is a key step for the successful implementation of the CEHS Global Fund subproject. The Center for Environmental and Health Studies in collaboration with the National TB Program organizes a training program for health workers in charge of TB and TB testing at the provincial and district levels.

The program is organized with the aim of helping students update new knowledge about tuberculosis, understand the process of diagnosing tuberculosis, latent TB, understanding treatment regimens, treatment management procedures, and ways to treat tuberculosis, evaluate treatment results and how to manage treatment with some special cases. Thereby helping Hoa Binh achieve the goals of the local CEHS subproject such as: i) increasing the detection of TB patients, at least 20% increase in the number of patients in the same period at each screening point; ii) screening, detection, management and treatment of latent TB cases.

The main lecturers involved in teaching include: MSc.Dr. Truong Thanh Huyen – Program Directorate, Central Lung Hospital; MSc. Le Thi Nguyet – Department of microbiology and national standard laboratory, Central Lung Hospital; Dr. Doan Trong Trung, information technology expert; MSc.Dr. Tran Van Thieu, CEHS officer. In addition to attending the training session, there were also Dr. Kieu Dinh Vi, director of the Center for Disease Control in Hoa Binh Province.

More than 30 trainees participating in the training are doctors and nurses involved in TB prevention and control in Hoa Binh province.
After completing the training course, trainees will be able to: develop a plan for proactive TB detection in their localities, update new knowledge about TB, understand screening and diagnostic procedures, treatment regimens for tuberculosis, latent TB.
